Now to see if the pieces will line up or if there’s some warp in the pieces that’ll need clamping and flash needing trim. Freaking Revell.

Yeah, that pretty much sums up my personal experience building models.

As a pro tip for models, I think the low-bloom (low vapor) super glues are available for order from Grainger. I’m going to give that a try next time. Super glue, since it cures fast, grabs quick, and doesn’t stay runny is a natural choice for models, but if you’ve ever tried ordinary store-bought you can’t use it for clear as easily. White vapor.

Last time I started (but never finished) a model, I used the brush-on Testors with modest success. I haven’t tried a model in 25 years. Just like I can’t stand taking bad pictures, I can’t stand making a bad model. I have the time and inclination to make my photography better, but not modeling. I’d like to try again, but I need a dedicated space to lay it all out, and I just don’t have the room.

I have several models started but not finished. A tiny Land Rover, two Vickers tanks, a P38, a Mosquito, a Ranchero, a Hudson, and a Lotus F1 car. Probably more. I need a dedicated model-working space as well.

As a former F-4E crew chief, I’m pretty sure I worked on this one.
